Tran earned a degree in social work that focused on the needs of others and worked as a safety consultant for tech titans like Google and Waymo in the Bay Area.

I was lucky enough to be nurtured by a loving but destitute family when I was growing up in Ho Chi Minh City. During the Vietnam War, my grandfather spent three years as a prisoner of war.
What factors affected the Development of this Product?
I invented Wonder Hoodie out of necessity because I couldn’t find bulletproof clothing for ladies and children at a reasonable price. Last Christmas Eve, my next-door neighbor, a mother of two, was heading home when she was approached by two youngsters who demanded her purse. Only a few feet from her house and mine, eight bullets were fired at her in the chest. Her son, who had been waiting for her to return outside their window, witnessed the entire occurrence and immediately dialed 911. Unfortunately, by the time I realized what was wrong, it was too late. The story grabbed local and regional headlines for a long time.
I couldn’t stop thinking about what had happened earlier in the day. I couldn’t sleep at night thinking about my mother and younger brother had to come home from school every day. As a result, I went online in search of something beneficial to offer them, but all I could find was gear geared for men that cost upwards of $4,000. I decided to construct my own after becoming frustrated with my inability to locate something suitable for my family at a reasonable price.
Because of my background in material science as well as health and safety issues, I understood exactly how to get started after graduation. Even if they are merely going down the street, no one should have to worry about their safety or the protection of others they care about. I will not rest until my aim of making bulletproof gear more widely available is met.
