Who Plays Grace In The Long Call: ITV drama The Long Call, based on the novel of the same name by Vera author Ann Cleeves, stars Our Girl’s Ben Aldridge as DI Matthew Venn, a police detective who returns to his childhood home in North Devon after marrying his wife, where he is forced to confront his upbringing in a strict religious community, the Barum Brethren.
The drama, which takes place on the seaside, features a superb ensemble that includes Aldridge, Pearl Mackie from Doctor Who, and Juliet Stevenson from The Village, who plays Matthew’s mother, who has a tough relationship with him. It’s a Long Call stars Ben Aldridge (Our Girl, Fleabag) and Pearl Mackie (Greed, Doctor Who) as DI Matthew Venn and DC Jen Rafferty, respectively, in the role of police detectives. Matthew’s mother, Dorothy, will be played by Juliet Stevenson, while his spouse, Jonathan, will be played by Declan Bennett. Martin Shaw will portray the spiritual head of the Barum Brethren, Dennis Stephenson, and Anita Dobson will portray his wife, Grace Stephenson, in the film.
Dylan Edwards, who will serve as DC, will also be joining them. Ross Pritchard, Pearce Quigley as DCI Joe Oldham, Neil Morrissey as Christopher Reasley, Sarah Gordy as Lucy Cradle, Alan Williams as Maurice Cradle, and Amit Shah as Ed Raveley are among the cast members of the series.
