A college education
Coach Billy Donovan’s Gators recruited Haslem to play for them while he studied leisure service administration at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. Donovan’s 1998 recruiting class, which included future Miami Heat player Mike Miller and included him as a starter for four years, helped propel the Gators to national prominence. Later years of 2013 and onward: Haslem lost his place in the starting lineup in the 2013–14 season. As the season went, his playing time decreased substantially. Haslem appeared in four games during the 2019–20 NBA season, including starting at power forward in Miami’s final regular-season game against the Indiana Pacers. He became just the 30th player in league history and the first modern-era undrafted player to play past 40 years of age during that year’s season. Despite being on Miami’s active roster, Haslem did not appear in any postseason games as the Heat lost to the Los Angeles Lakers in six games in 2020’s NBA Finals.
