Smashbox Cosmic Celebration Palette Review

Smashbox Cosmic Celebration Palette Review: The limited-edition Smashbox Planetary Cheek Palette, which includes a blush and two baked highlighters, is part of Smashbox’s Holiday 2019 Cosmic Celebration Collection. I bought this at Ulta a few weeks ago, and it’s quickly become my go-to cheek palette. As you may know, while I like a good blush palette, I’m not a big fan of highlighters. My Becca Highlighters are my favorites, but I haven’t found any others that I like.

The blush color of the Cosmic Celebration Planetary Cheek Palette drew my attention. I know I’m making wise and rational purchases when I buy a palette because I like a single color. But don’t be a liar! You’ve almost certainly done something similar at some point in your life. There are two highlighters and one blush in the set. The highlighter shade Heart & Solar is my favorite in the palette. It’s a brassy gold with warm bronze flecks, and it pairs beautifully with Plant Out, a pale coral pink blush. For this review, I’m wearing a mixture of the two colors swirling together. Sugar & Spice is the second highlighter shade, and it’s a mix of sparkly peach, rose, and white.

Although the Smashbox Cosmic Celebration Planetary Cheek Palette is smaller than I anticipated, the packaging is stunning. The phrase “Shine Like the Star You Are” is printed on the front of this ombre pink-and-orange rectangle compact. It contains three powders, each weighing 0.05 ounces (or roughly the equivalent in grams), totaling 0.15 ounces ($29). I considered purchasing another because it is so small, but I decided against it because I already have a lot of blush. I was reminded of Laura Geller’s Blush n Brighten by these. Baked blushes are my favorite! Most people dislike baked makeup, but I absolutely adore it! The Bourjois Paris Blushes breaks my heart. (https://cozumelparks.com)

Smashbox Planetary Cheek Palette swatches

These colors apply poorly and have very little pigment, as you can see from the swatches. They have a chunkier, shimmery feel during the application, but this is barely noticeable. They are fantastic at applying, blending, and constructing. Although they are colorless, those of us with larger hands will appreciate how simple it is to build them up to a lovely, natural sheen. Because the hues look so beautiful on my face, even though they don’t apply well on my wrist, I believe the palette will be easily overlooked.

Do not dismiss it as pointless. I like the color and how it makes my skin glow. The Smashbox Cosmic Celebration Planetary Cheek Palette has a lot to offer those who prefer a more subtle flush!
