Qured Reviews: British Airways has teamed up with Qured, a testing company, to offer affordable quick antigen test kits to travelers who must conform to travel Requirements. In the £33 “ultra-convenient” portable kits, an LFD (lateral flow device) is utilized to identify a protein included in the virus. Public Health England has certified that the LFDs it uses are safe and effective, according to Qured.
Customers can take the kits to foreign countries that allow antigen tests, or they can pack them to take overseas in preparation for their return trip to the UK, which is scheduled to begin on May 17. Visitors must present documentation of a negative Covid-19 test completed within 72 hours of their anticipated departure date in order to enter the United Kingdom. This saves time and effort because you won’t have to seek a testing center or supplier while on the road. Because Qured tests can only be sent to addresses in the United Kingdom, you’ll need to order the kit before leaving the country.
Getting ready for the exam
This test can be ordered by visiting the British Airways website and looking under the headline ‘Test before you fly,’ which lists the airline’s agreements with several testing providers. Qured is recommended as the first option if you need to take an exam from anywhere in the world. Enter the coupon code BATRAVEL15 at the checkout on the provider’s website. The cost of PCR Swab testing is £99, while Covid-19 testing is £39; select the latter and you’ll be directed to the booking page. Return to the United Kingdom, Test to Release, and Diagnostic (including Fit to Fly for the United States, Italy, and Germany) (non-travel).
I chose “Return to the United Kingdom – pre-departure” as my travel reason as a test. You can have the LFD test picked for you automatically using this method. After that, I had to fill out my personal information, including my passport number and my return date to England. DX group, which is free for nationwide delivery and offers next-day delivery if you order by 3 pm, and Courier, which is $29 and includes next-day delivery within the M25 if you order by 6 pm, are the two delivery options. To complete the transaction, enter your credit card information first, followed by the promotional code.
Organizing your Meeting
After paying for the exam, you can schedule a video conference session with one of our medical professionals. Even though it states it will arrive the same day, I booked my delivery for two days after ordering the kit to be careful. You may arrange a time slot between the hours of 0900 and 1800 because there was a lot of time available. When travel plans change, the service can be easily canceled and rescheduled. Thank you for the prompt delivery and the option to track it and see its estimated arrival time, which allowed me to go for a walk without worrying about missing it. The kit is small enough to fit in a carry-on bag for a vacation, and the delivery was unharmed.
Videoconferencing is an option for consultation
After purchasing your exam, you will receive an email with a secure link to the digital waiting room. You’ll then get an email an hour before your exam reminding you of your video call. Before dialing my first number, I needed to be prepared. I went over the kit one last time to make sure I had everything I needed for the test and that everything was set up and ready to go. You’ll only need a pen and a timer to complete this task (I used my phone). You’ll also get a booklet that has all of the necessary information as well as step-by-step instructions for taking the exam.
I arrived at the receptionist’s office 10 minutes before my planned appointment time and, as told, entered my name when required. It’s preferable to be in a quiet room with a good internet signal, and you may need to adjust your camera view to make sure you’re always in the frame. After the medical professional messaged me on the service to see if I was ready for the call a few minutes early, we started talking.
Receiving the Results of your Research
When the timer goes off, you’ll be able to see the result. If there is only one line seen by C, the test is negative in this scenario. Positive findings indicate that the C and T lines can be seen; negative results indicate that the C and T lines cannot be seen and that the test should be repeated. PCR tests are inconvenient and expensive because they must be performed overnight in a laboratory. Qured, on the other hand, sells do-it-yourself antigen tests for travelers, which can provide results in as little as a few minutes. The report by Jenny Southan can be seen here.
Make sure the country you’ll be visiting accepts rapid antigen (also known as lateral flow) tests before you go. Because my parents and brother were traveling from the United Kingdom to France, which accepts rapid antigen testing, and because the NHS does not give free rapid antigen tests, I told them about Qured. Ordering the “Fit to Fly” tests via the Qured website is simple, but those who have trouble with technology will need assistance with the complete procedure, as a video conversation with a health expert will be required later.
Fast antigen testing using Qured costs £39, which is less than PCR tests, which can cost over $100 each test. Additionally, using fast antigen tests prior to travel is less stressful because you won’t have to worry about the lab or postal delays. To be accepted for admittance into France, the test must be completed within 48 hours of departure. At the very least, getting to the lab will take at least 24 hours. Even if the box arrives in the morning, you’ll have to wait for another 24 to 48 hours for your findings.
Cost
The average per-person cost is $210. Qured, in my perspective, delivers amazing service. Even though it isn’t the cheapest or even the most expensive, it works and has received positive feedback from coworkers who have used it. The most aggravating titles are Day 2 and Day 8 (particularly the Day 8 section), as well as Day 5 Test and Release. However, there is a separate assessment for that…
Verdict
Because of the speed, price, and convenience of use of this service, I had my negative result and certificate in within an hour. I can see myself taking the kit on future travels because of its portability, and the directions provided by the health care provider were very clear. It took me a few days to activate the kit, but that was due to my inability to accurately type my bar code onto the website. After completing this step, I received my findings almost quickly, although they were at least 12 hours later than they should have been.
This is an excellent solution for those of us who can’t wait to get back on the road. That is if everything goes according to plan. If your sample arrives late Wednesday night and is processed the next day, it might take up to 14 days after you arrive. I bet you’ll be furious and wish you’d done the Day 5 Test and Release by then.
