Last Leg Guests Tonight: (Guests and start time for the final leg of the year in 2021) Last Leg of the Year 2021 Premieres on Channel 4 tonight. On New Year’s Eve, Devon comedian Josh Widdicombe will premiere his show The Last Leg of the Year on television. Widdicombe, who was born in Haytor and grew up supporting Plymouth Argyle, will be joined by co-stars Adam Hills and Alex Brooker, as well as a number of special guests.
Widdicombe told DevonLive in 2019 that he had a “wonderful upbringing” in Devon and that his favourite memory of the county was watching Plymouth Argyle beat Darlington 1-0 in the 1996 playoffs. The evening will contain a comedic assessment of the most notable events of the previous 12 months, with music provided by house band Alex Horne and the Horne Section.
What time does it start?
The show premieres on Channel 4 at 9 p.m. and goes till 11.05 p.m.
The Last Leg, an award-winning show, premiered in 2012 to coincide with Channel 4’s coverage of the London Paralympics. It was revived as a stand-alone series in 2013, but the focus on promoting diversity and disability humour has remained the same (Hills and Brooker regularly poke fun at their own disabilities). It is now known for pushing social justice without fear and attempting to deflate the egos of the wealthy and powerful. The public is invited to participate by tweeting their questions to the show using the hashtag #isitok.
What are the names of the visitors?
Aisling Bea, Joe Wilkinson, Nish Kumar, Ivo Graham, Maisie Adam, and Vick Hope are among the guests. Aisling Bea is an Irish comedian, activist, and writer who has been on QI and Insert Name Here in the past. She also stars in the Netflix comedy-drama Living With Yourself and is the star and executive producer of Channel 4’s comedy series This Way Up.
Joe Wilkinson, a comedian, and actor is most remembered for his appearances on Live at the Apollo and Live at the Electric, as well as winning a celebrity special of The Great British Bake Off. He’s also appeared on Countdown with 8 Out of 10 Cats. Nish Kumar is a stand-up comedian and television host who has hosted Radio 4’s Newsjack and The News Quiz, as well as The Mash Report. Ivo Graham, a Tokyo native, has been on shows such as Live at the Apollo, Mock the Week, Life from the BBC, The Dog Ate My Homework, and Fighting Talk. He is a regular performer at the Edinburgh Fringe and has toured with Josh Widdicombe.
Maisie Adams, who was born in North Yorkshire and has appeared on Have I Got News For You, QI, and Would I Lie To You, has performed at the Edinburgh Fringe and on television shows such as Have I Got News For You, QI, and Would I Lie To You. She has also narrated ITV2’s Cabins reality show. Vick Hope is a TV host and presenter who co-hosted ITV’s I’m a Celebrity…The Daily Drop and co-starred alongside Freddie Flintoff and Lethal Bizzle in Sky One’s Carnage. She’s also the author of a children’s book that was featured in Marie Claire and Shout magazines.
Tonight’s Broadcast
On tonight’s broadcast, I’m not sure what Adam Hills, Josh Widdicombe, and Alex Brooker will be talking about. However, I can make an educated guess. The England vs. Italy Euros final should be on the show this week, and possibly in the #isitok part as well. Especially because the visitors include David Baddiel, Frank Skinner, and Ian Broudie of The Lightning Seeds, who will sing Three Lions – they might as well do it now, because they may have to retire it after Sunday’s final.
The most recent information from the impending emergency Tokyo Olympics/Paralympics should also be discussed. Especially since The Last Leg began as a show documenting the 2012 Paralympic Games in London. Tom Allen, who I don’t think is a major soccer fan, but his mate and old school friend Rob Beckett is one of the other guests on the show. Allen is set to host his own food competition, Cooking With The Stars, in the near future. The series, which will show on ITV and the ITV Hub this summer, will star eight celebrities, each partnered with an expert chef who will mentor, instruct, and guide them from enthusiastic amateurs to restaurant-level cooks.
Sayeeda Warsi, who recently participated on Channel 4’s Stand Up And Deliver, when non-comics tried their hand at stand-up for charity, is also on The Last Leg. Warsi’s mentor and coach was comedian Nick Helm, and despite their political disagreements, it seemed to work out, as Warsi won the show and made a few friends by having a go at her party. Nick Helm thought he’d gotten the short end of the stick when he was assigned to educate a Tory politician. What could they possibly have in common? Is it even possible that she has a sense of humour? But, as in a corny feelgood movie, she discovered her “Baroness Bitch” comic abilities, and by the end, they had bonded. Helm’s political beliefs did not change as a result of this.
Topical Comedy show The Last Leg
Tonight, David Tennant will be one of the guests on Channel 4’s live topical comedy show The Last Leg, which returns for its thirteenth season. The show, hosted by Adam Hills, Alex Brooker, and Josh Widdecombe, takes an irreverent look at the week’s top news stories and trends. Craig David, a singer-songwriter, will also be performing.
On tonight’s episode of The Last Leg, Sara Pascoe and Phil Wang are the guests
Adam Hills, Josh Widdicombe, and Alex Brooker, the show’s regular hosts, will be speaking with them and reporting on the efforts of Adam Hills’ Mental Health Army recruits, whose goal this week was to make something creative in their front window to cheer up their neighbors. There’s still time to take pictures and email them to @thelastleg with the hashtag #AdsArmy.
Josh Widdicombe can also be heard on the podcast Lockdown Parenting Hell with Rob Beckett, and he has just been announced as one of the comedians offering dating advice on the Sky show Dating No Filter, which will premiere on Sky One and TV streaming service NOW TV on February 25th.
Sara Pascoe starred in the three-part travel show Last Woman on Earth, which is now available on iPlayer. Pascoe is married to Steen Raskopoulos, an Australian comedian. Pascoe and Rasko are their names at our house. They married before the lockdown, and he played her brother in the BBC sitcom Out Of Her Mind. Steen Raskopoulous also starred as Ryan’s boyfriend in Katherine Ryan’s Netflix comedy The Duchess. On February 6, Phil Wang (pictured) will perform an internet show.
