Judge Zone .Com: A mobile phone app called JudgesZone.com has been deployed since Monster Jam World Finals 18 for scoring at Monster Jam events. As a fan judging score, it was added to the three remaining numbers from the five designated judges, making it four out of six. In the end, it eliminated the issue of handpicked fan judges by enabling any fan with a smartphone to register their own phone number.
Controversy has emerged since the Fans are subjective and cannot adequately follow the guidelines for judging Freestyle. Many drivers, including the Eichelberger brothers and Dennis Anderson, expressed their displeasure with the system after the Monster Jam All-Star Challenge 2019, in which many runs were over-scored by one hit, while other runs went unnoticed, and the winners also expressed their displeasure with winning without merit. As a result, a new regulation was devised requiring drivers to finish a particular number of seconds in order to be scored; in arenas, this was 15 seconds, and in stadiums, it was 30 seconds.

Triple Threat Trucks in the Monster Jam World Series
As a parent, I was originally startled by how much my kids enjoyed Monster Jam, given that they are young and it is so noisy. And yet… we are all fans! Our attendance at many performances has been a pleasure. Capital One Arena has a lot of fun vehicles that take on their own personalities.
Zombie Truck
The acrobatics and tricks ended in accidents which are a fantastic opportunity to teach your little ones that everyone makes errors and gets hurt, but it’s vital to get back up! Using the online scoring at judgezone.com, the audience gets to be the judges for a variety of activities. Before each judged event, the judging criteria are announced. We enjoyed the element of participating in the rating process which was interactive. Each event’s winner is awarded points, and the driver with the most points is crowned Event Champion.
A Monster Jam Judge’s Day in the Life
At the Vancouver stop of this traveling circus of rolling leviathans, I had the honor of serving as an official Monster Jam judge. My small entourage consisted of my brother, brother-in-law, and wide-eyed nephew Owen, and I made it a family experience because that’s what Monster Jam events are all about. Everyone had a great day, especially me, because being in the spotlight for a few hours and responsible for judging three of the most exciting disciplines on the program – donuts, wheelies, and the apex category, freestyle – was an unforgettable experience.
The five-judge panel was invited to arrive early to be instructed on the judging process and given a list of points, directives, and judging criteria on which we would base our scores from 1 to 10. I’d been to a few Monster Jam events as a fan before, but being a part of the action added a new dimension to the experience. I was probably a little more qualified than the rest of the judging panel because I’ve been a motorsports fan since childhood and worked as a professional racing photographer for almost two decades, but I had no experience or training as a judge prior to this event.
What Does It Take To Be A Monster Jam Official Judge?
Two men and three women made up the judging panel, and none of us had ever played the part before. Surprisingly, and much to the delight of the event announcers, our scorecards are often identical across the board. At the very least, we were on the same page and in agreement. The judging procedure consisted of allocating points to the eight contestants based on a variety of factors.
The fans’ reactions immediately demonstrated that they loved rollovers, crashes, and other forms of damage and that if they were in charge of the scoring, these ailments would earn the highest ratings. However, the judges were told that these actions should be given lower marks than those that made a big visual impact yet were completed successfully.
The judges had around 20 seconds after the end of a run to assess and submit their “official” scores. Audience members can participate in the voting process by downloading a special app (www.judgeszone.com) to their cell phones and mobile devices. The overall score is then calculated by the series officials, who subtract the judges’ high and low scores before adding a virtual judge’s score, which is established after averaging the scores entered via the app.
Monster Jam Trucks: The Show’s True Stars
The grid features a cast of eight drivers (mostly male, but a growing contingent of female drivers is helping the series grow in popularity) who strive to impress the audience by performing seemingly impossible aerial moves and acrobatic feats from behind the wheel of mechanical monsters that become characters in their own right, ranging from adorable canines and spike-studded war machines to futuristic police cars, raging bulls, and four-wheeled zombies.
