It may be small, but it packs a powerful punch

With a fully-filled cleaning solution tank, moving the PowerDash up and downstairs was a breeze. Even with all of our mop buckets, brooms, and vacuums on hand, this device was easy to maneuver around furniture and nooks. If you live in a studio or an apartment, this carpet cleaner is ideal for you. Carpet cleaners that we’ve tried are large and don’t do a good job removing pet hair. Removes pet messes with Hoover’s PowerDash Pet Carpet Cleaner Compact.

In a nutshell:

The Hoover PowerDash was a breeze to unpack. Petspin brush, half-gallon clean and dirty water tank, and detachable nozzle round out the features of this carpet cleaner’s 20-foot power cable. Except for the handle and the clean and filthy water tanks, all of the structures were built. Putting the puzzle pieces together was a breeze thanks to the clear directions.

Prior to use, we filled the bottle-shaped tank with water and the appropriate amount of solution (some bundles come with a sample bottle). We discovered a cleaning solution flowing onto the equipment after we secured the tank in its chamber. In the end, we had to use trial and error in order to fix it, but we were left with soapy, slippery carpet cleaning.

Sophisticated Design that is Easy to use

We appreciated the Hoover PowerDash despite its lack of additional features. The Hoover PowerDash comes with two tanks: one for clean water and one for dirty water. As a result, the machine was not weighed down by the half-gallon tank of clean water as a larger tank might be. Constraints of a small tank Cleaning up little pet accidents may be possible with a half-gallon tank, however, this tank quickly ran out of solution when applied to larger areas. A typical-sized room’s carpet required three or four refills. If you need to clean a large area, this could take a long time.

Due to the lack of warning lights or sirens, we had to constantly monitor the tank levels. This method was inaccessible to the general public. Antimicrobial protection from the PowerDash’s pet brush roll helped remove pet hair from the carpet. It was difficult to clean the brush and the chamber (more on that later).

Powerful cleaning for removing pet hair

This isn’t a carpet cleaning service. It removes pet odors. Pet dander and dog hair came off easily with this 10-inch broad machine. There was always a noticeable color difference between the carpet that was shampooed and that which was not. We had several reservations about the quality of the cleaning. When the filthy water chamber is overflowing, the PowerDash will no longer spray or suction, rendering it useless. Once the dirty water chamber was empty, the sprayer and hose that sucked out the unclean water began working again—as long as we didn’t allow it to fill up again.

The PowerDash carpet cleaner didn’t emit much heat during or after the heated cleaning process. After hot cleaning, the carpet is dried using HeatForce by PowerDash. In the process of using PowerDash, we found pet hair in the tank. After cleaning the carpet, we expected it to be warm, but it wasn’t. It also didn’t appear to be wet. It took less than 30 minutes to dry after cleaning. Our carpets had taken much longer to dry after using other carpet cleaners, so not having to wear damp socks was a huge relief.

Infinitely more obnoxious than the previous level of volume!

Loud is an understatement when describing the sound of the PowerDash. It makes a lot of noise. It frightened our cat and one of our dogs, but our partially deaf dog seemed unfazed. It was noisier than our vacuum, which surprised us because all of our previous carpet cleaners had been rather quiet in comparison. Pets who are afraid of this carpet cleaner may suffer psychological harm as a result of its use. The carpet cleaner’s squeaking sounds terrified our cat and dog.

Cleaning:

It took a lot of work to get the appliance clean. After using the brush, we rubbed the bristles with a rag to loosen any hair or grime that had accumulated on them. Despite the fact that we enjoyed using the pet hairbrush, we dreaded cleaning it. It takes a long time to clean the brush compartment. To clean the brush and compartment wall, we would have to remove the belt, unscrew the compartment, and then remove the pet hair. Uncomplicated. I found it easier to clean the filthy water tank. When cleaning, the compartment’s retractable nozzle made it easier.

Affordability

If you’ve got a pet, you’ll appreciate this carpet cleaner’s $110 (or less on sale) price tag. A good dander remover can be found here. A one-year warranty is included. There are other alternatives, but none are similar. Cleaning up after pets is made easier with the BISSELL ProHeat Essential Carpet Cleaning System (view on Amazon). In terms of carpet cleaning, the ProHeat is better than the PowerDash, but it is larger and may not be suitable for smaller homes. However, the Bissell has a larger tank than the PowerDash, which is a nice thing, but it costs $180 and does not offer anything extra.

Hoover Powerdash Pet Compact carpet cleaning review: Features

The Hoover Powerdash Pet Compact costs US$9629. (White). Because of its modest size, it is possible to carry this machine to the second or third level on a regular basis. Its weight is only 13 pounds. The Bissell PowerForce PowerBrush was the only one that was lighter than the others. When I took the Powerdash Pet Compact home and back to the lab, it was by far the easiest to travel. It also scored a flawless score for maneuverability due to its ease of maneuvering around furniture and other obstacles.

The cord was only 10 feet long, the shortest of any machine. You’ll have to continue seeking a new outlet for larger projects. The tank is also small, with only two quarts of capacity compared to four quarts on other models. The cleaning path was also only 10 inches broad. If you need to clean a large area, consider the Hoover Max Extract 60 Pressure Pro. Because there isn’t enough room on a machine this small, a hose and other equipment for washing stairs and furniture aren’t supplied. The only carpets that can benefit from this treatment are those that have been stained by pet urine.

This was the easiest to maintain and took the least amount of time. The soap does not need to be measured. To clean, simply fill the tank halfway with water, then halfway with soap. Simpler tasks included emptying the toilet and filling the gas tank. Although this model worked better than the rest of the carpet cleaners we tested, none of them were very quiet. The Rug Doctor Deep Carpet Cleaner and the Bissell PowerLifter Powerbrush were the only two that created less noise.

Is the Hoover Powerdash Pet Compact carpet cleaner a good deal?

Although Hoover offers excellent customer service, this vacuum cleaner only comes with a one-year warranty. Other devices, despite being more expensive, provided a larger range of coverage. The Hoover Powerdash Pet Compact vacuum cleaner is ideal for new puppy owners. We preferred it to the popular handheld spot vacs on the market because of its mobility. It should be gone after a couple of passes over the mess.
