Brandon Boulware’s presentation before the Missouri state House on March 3 has gotten a lot of attention as other jurisdictions debate transgender athletes competing in schools.
One Boulware clip has gotten over 4 million views. The son of a Methodist minister, Boulware described himself as a “lifelong Missourian, business lawyer, Christian, and son of a Methodist minister.” A husband and father of four children, two boys, and two girls, he stated he went to the hearing on his daughter’s birthday without notifying her. Doctors and scientists think that’s an oversimplification. The possibility to acquire a college scholarship is lost when women or young girls work hard in a competitive sport, Basye remarked.
Boulware stated in his testimony that if the Missouri House passes the bill, it will restrict his daughter’s ability to play sports. “And my daughter. Similar Measures are being Considered Nationwide
Mississippi recently enacted a similar bill prohibiting transgender athletes from female sports. Gov. Tate Reeves, a Republican, is anticipated to sign the bill into law. To prevent transgender athletes from participating in women’s school sports, Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge has proposed the Gender Integrity Reinforcement Legislation Sports Act. For transsexual girls, this means no sports from kindergarten until college. “We don’t want common sense to be swamped by so-called political correctness…. This law would ensure the integrity of girls and women in sports,” Rutledge stated on Feb. 22.
As Boulware explained in an online video he used to misunderstand transgender individuals and sought to stop his daughter from being a girl. He forced her to wear boy’s clothes and practice boy’s sports. Then one day, while dressed in her sister’s outfit, she begged to play with a neighbor across the street. No, Boulware. His kid then asked if she could go play if she dressed like a boy. In the video, he says, “It hit me that my daughter equated being good with being someone else.” “I was teaching her to hide. After a federal court halted an Idaho bill last year, Mississippi became the first state to implement such legislation this week. In all likelihood, South Dakota will follow suit. Even though President Joe Biden’s executive order on gender identity discrimination was issued on Jan. 20, many conservative lawmakers are still pushing for legislation that would outlaw discrimination based on gender identity in school sports and elsewhere.
