He acquired the concept for the Bourne trilogy after a brief attack of forgetfulness. Following the publication of his debut novel, The Scarlatti Inheritance, he lost track of 12 hours of his life. This and other thrilling real-life spy stories inspired him to write the Jason Bourne trilogy.

Adaptations
