Mirojnick and Fanning came up with the idea for Aurora’s pale pink dress for an engagement party she’ll attend with her soon-to-be mother-in-law, Queen Ingrid, as they contemplated how the young Queen of the Moors might appear on the screen. “I then developed a new Sleeping Beauty dress near the conclusion of the film and [Fanning] was ecstatic,” Mirojnick said, referring to Fanning’s desire for a homage to the classic tale of Sleeping Beauty for her engagement costume.

Ingrid, on the other hand, is far from Aurora’s “environmentally conscious monarch,” as Mirojnick describes her.
