Seven-Day Cabbage Soup Diet Journal & Meal Suggestion

Eat as much diet cabbage soup as you want today, but only fruit (excluding bananas). Your go-to fruits should be apples, blueberries, and other low-sugar fruits. I like baked cinnamon apples for breakfast (using Gala or Honey Crisp apples), a huge fruit salad and cabbage soup for lunch, and cabbage soup and melon salad for dinner.

Day 2 – Only vegetables are permitted (except corn or other starchy veggies). However, the day does start with a baked potato (russet or sweet). This baked potato will undoubtedly please you. This is the first time a baked potato has made me so happy in the morning! My favorite carbohydrate is sweet potatoes. I chopped up my sweet potato into cubes and roasted it in the oven with bell peppers and onions for breakfast.

Day 3: Today, eat a wide variety of fruits and vegetables (except bananas, corn, and other starchy vegetables). Another bummer is that no potato will be delivered today. I simply repeat what I ate on days one and two for my meals.

Day 4: You can only have bananas and milk/yogurt today. This is, without a doubt, the worst day of my life. It greatly irritates me. All you need are bananas, milk, and plain yogurt. It’s unfortunate, but we’ll make the best of the situation! The key ingredients in my morning smoothie are bananas, almond milk, and Greek yogurt. I normally have cabbage soup for lunch.

Day 5:For the rest of today, eat only tomatoes (6-8) and lean meats like fish and poultry. I had no problems today because I eat a lot of meat. For my breakfast, I topped turkey sausage patties with tomatoes. I had grilled chicken with tomatoes and a seasoning mix of salt, basil, and pepper for lunch. I added some turkey sausage and a couple of additional tomatoes to make it even better. The dinner was really filling. I’d had enough of the soup on this particular day. Ugh!!

Because it’s Day 6 and you’ll be eating protein and vegetables, you can have other vegetables besides tomatoes today. I had turkey sausage for breakfast with roasted vegetables on the side. Lunch consisted of a superb chicken and veggie stir-fry. I served spaghetti squash with tomato sauce and turkey ground beef as a side dish. I usually avoid spaghetti squash since it is too starchy, but I couldn’t resist! Today was the best day of my life! I wasn’t going to eat cabbage soup today since I was sick of it.

Day 7: Today’s menu includes entirely fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as juices. Booo!!!!! Today has been the most difficult day of my life. I was in need of some extra protein. It’s fortunate that today is the last day. The scale showed that I had lost 7 pounds this morning, which was a wonderful surprise. I’m spotless on the inside. Today, however, I’m a bit of a foodie! For my first meal of the day, I make a large fruit and veggie smoothie with spinach, apples, oranges, grapes, and water.

As of this morning, I’m down 8-10 pounds, and it’s incredible to see how far I’ve come! My husband has taken notice of my flat stomach, slim face, and substantial weight loss. He is irritated by the fact that my booty appears to be diminishing. Neither am I! My wedding band no longer fits properly on my finger since my fingers have shrunk. I’ll be on a rigorous eating regimen today and for the next week while on vacation, avoiding any sugars and dangerous carbs. There is no quick fix for long-term weight loss. The cabbage soup diet may cause weight loss at first, but this is due to strict calorie management and meal planning.

The 7-day cabbage soup diet does not teach you how to make healthy food choices or how to maintain your weight loss once the program is over. As soon as you stop following the strategy, the weight will return, and then some. The healthiest diet is one that you can follow for a long time without needing to make big lifestyle changes. If you’re attempting to lose weight, an RDN can assist you in determining the best diet for you.
