Synopsis:

This collection honors sing-along standards including “Some Enchanted Evening.” These are songs that we enjoy singing for fun and in the shower. The setting for this performance, which stars five actors who might be cast in any Rodgers and Hammerstein musical, is “backstage,” where the songs are sung as a private interplay, and “on stage,” where the songs are “performed” for the audience. Obviously, the most important part is the music and the five artists. Each vocalist must add their own distinctive flair and personality to the songs and the settings in which they are performed. For instance, Curly wants to sing Laurie The Surrey with the Fringe on Top so he may pop the question to her.

To achieve that goal, each actor and each actress must figure out how to make I Cain’t Say No work as a very modern examination of a woman’s interactions with males, among other things. The chance to experiment with their own interpretations of the songs rather than strictly following the rules of the original characters gave the artists a chance to do so. Act One, which concentrates on the connections between the five protagonists, employs the songs as dialogue. The second act is primarily made up of the characters’ personal sentiments and thoughts about love. Each of the five performers sings a song from one of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s most well-known musicals individually.

For both the Audience and the Artists

This musical revue gives a novel take on well-known tunes. The lyrics or the music may sound as though they are being heard for the first time. Play the music, please. To determine the song’s subject matter, look at the lyrics. Keep in mind that the music originated after the lyrics were composed. But above all, let the music shine. Your audience only needs five gifted performers who are passionate about one another and the songs they will be singing; they won’t need any unnecessary gimmicks or glitz. If you can pull this off, it will be a beautiful evening for both the performers and the audience.

“SOME ENCHANTED EVENING” is a celebration of musical theatre. The Performing Arts Company’s Spring Musical pays homage to the Golden Age of Musical Theater. The show includes a selection of songs and moments from some of the most well-known musicals ever produced. This performance highlights some of the most significant composers, iconic musicals, and groundbreaking works of all time; however, you won’t witness full productions of some of these pieces at the PAC. We are thrilled beyond measure to be able to share this information with our students and viewers. The actual performance activity was recorded both outside and on the BHS stage. On this page, and on June 12 and 13, Belmont Media TV, streaming will start at 7 p.m.

DONATE TO SUPPORT ENCHANTED EVENING!

Some Enchanted Evening will have its international premiere on Saturday, June 12 at 7 p.m. online and on Belmont Media Center TV (Comcast Ch. 96, Verizon Ch 30).

HELP MAKE IT HAPPEN BY PARTICIPATING

Some Enchanted Evening can be viewed for free online, but all of the costs associated with the production are covered by donations. The more you contribute, the more we can do to continue putting on fantastic events like this one and others in the upcoming years.

A SUGGESTED LIMIT FOR MY DONATION IN DOLLARS?

Donations are always appreciated, but to help you determine how much to give, here are some guidelines: If you’re coming to the PAC Musical with others, think about donating $12 to $15 per person. Please think about giving $26 for every hour of the 26 hours of video we captured over the course of four days. In honor of the final dance number in the performance, “42nd” St., think about giving $42 to the cause (especially if you love tap dance). Think about making a $1 donation for each of the 77 students who performed in the musical this year (as either cast or crew).

The programme opens with a medley of songs by Rodgers & Hammerstein, whose 119th and 126th birthdays would have been this year. So it would be fantastic if you could spare $119, $126, or $245 for two of them. Since all of your money will go directly toward the PAC show’s supplies and equipment, you might want to donate as much as you can. If we are successful in raising more money than we spent on this show, we will use it to fund future productions, new equipment purchases, specialized programmes, and seminars, as well as to make sure that our children will always have access to top-notch theatre education.

CONCERNING THE ACTIVITY

The Performing Arts Company’s Spring Musical pays homage to the Golden Age of Musical Theater. This performance highlights some of the most significant composers, iconic musicals, and groundbreaking works of all time; however, you won’t witness full productions of some of these pieces at the PAC. Acting, crewing, and band participation were among the many activities in which more than 70 pupils took part.

The actual performance activity was recorded both outside and on the BHS stage. On June 12 at 7 p.m., you can watch it on the BHS website. On June 12 and 13, it will also be broadcast on Belmont Media TV at 7 p.m. Involved in the performance were BHS Chorus Teacher Kaitlin Donovan, BHS Production Coordinator Christin Rills, and Broadway Night Music Director/Accompanist Jonathan Kessler (the Chenery Musical Director and regular production assistant for BHS Musicals).

Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Music

No other lyricist-composer team can rival Rodgers & Hammerstein in the extent to which their songs have influenced our daily lives. They’re everywhere, whether we sing them in the shower, dance to them in ballrooms, hear them on the radio, or hear them in clubs. When they perform in their various performances, we still drool over them, and we also talk to our kids about them. In this great album of songs, the songs are initially performed “backstage” as an interaction between the artists, and then “onstage.” However, it allows musicians to express their unique approaches and viewpoints while offering fans a fantastic parade of real songs to enjoy.
