Slimmeria Reviews: I’ve been meaning to post a review of my weight loss experience at a detox retreat for a while now… It has piqued the attention of a few of you to read it! To summarise, I spent five days and six nights at Slimmeria in North Devon, a vegan detox retreat, at the end of last month. The proprietors advertise it as a “rejuvenation and weight loss resort.” In a nutshell, you’re probably curious about how the encounter went.
This was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for me
I was able to obtain some very outstanding results as a result of my stay, which I shall cover in further detail later in this essay. First, let me explain what I was putting myself into and why I decided to go. I’m hoping it will be of interest to you. If you’re hoping for anything different, keep in mind that you might be disappointed. It was difficult, terrible, and eye-opening all at once. To put it frankly, it was one of the most extraordinary moments of my life. The Slimmeria experience, on the other hand, was offered for free in exchange for a favorable review. Slimmeria had no input into the content of this essay, and the ideas expressed therein are completely mine.
It’s also crucial that you leave the encounter feeling revitalized, energized, inspired, and uplifted. These are the emotions I experienced during my six-day retreat. Galia is a natural power if you will. She is as strict as she has to be in order to inspire you to do and think the right things. She is, however, quite sensitive and understanding about it. Is it really necessary to have someone in charge of the company who is a coward? I fell in love with her right away.
Why did I go to Slimmeria in the first place?
Slimmeria has two retreats, one in Ilfracombe, North Devon, and the other in Hye House, East Sussex. Slimmer is led by Galia Granger, who recently appeared on Channel 4’s Extreme Diet Hotel. Keep in mind that this isn’t simply another “diet retreat.” Galia intends to help you live a better lifestyle by changing your view on food, exercise, and self-care. Yes, you can lose up to 12 pounds in just six days (or perhaps a bit more).
I was astonished that she would spend so much time with us. She was there for you every step of the way, even if she wasn’t always gazing over your shoulder or breathing down your neck. She was also with us for breakfast and lunch five days a week. It was just the proper amount of encouragement to have her there, but she also encourages you to be self-motivated when she isn’t. On our first day of vacation, she said, “The afternoon walks are not required, but they are mandatory…!” The retreat’s pricing includes a spa, gym, “hang out” space, dining room, and other amenities. However, there are no large pieces of equipment such as treadmills or rowing machines.
This, however, was not the case. In actuality, though, the opposite occurred
I was so fatigued, lethargic, and lazy after surgery that comfort eating and snuggling on the couch seemed to have pushed me over the brink. Pizza became a weekly tradition rather than a once-a-year indulgence. Because of the beautiful weather, there were much more beers, gin & tonics, and chilled glasses of rosé eaten this summer than usual. Chocolate became a frequent part of my diet. I’ve lost a lot of fitness as a result of my January surgery, and my connection with food has gotten worse. Because of my leg troubles, I’d been gaining weight in the months leading up to my surgery, but I intended to get back on track and return to being a fit, strong woman.
Procedures for checking in and weighing in
When I arrived at Slimmeria on Sunday afternoon, I was shown to my room on the top floor of a magnificently refurbished historic building with breathtaking views of Ilfracombe. My room was a tremendous delight, with its own bathroom and a comfy bed… I was positive I’d be happy there for the next six nights. We built a strong, supportive team of six. There were five other women in the room with me. Everyone was given a tour of the building and their weekly duties before the week began.
On retreats, it’s amazing how quickly a group unites, especially when everyone is striving for the same thing: personal improvement in whatever shape it takes. As I previously indicated, my primary focus was on health and wellness, so I was thrilled to discover that frequent walking was included in the program. Every one of these treks, from the harbor to the beach, and even further up in the hills, will lead you to Ilfracombe’s most spectacular beauty spots. Believe me when I tell you that the hikes are well worth your time and effort. Weight-lifting classes with a motivational coach are frequently followed by walks; don’t worry, there is no shouting!
That’s how it went for me: three-day headaches every month, chronic sinus congestion, chronic exhaustion, and the persistent feeling that my legs were 90 years old. When the opportunity to visit Slimmeria arose, I practically leaped through my computer to wrest it from their clutches… it was as if the blogging gods had heard my prayers. I wanted to lose weight, improve my mood, and protect my health in the long run. Being able to wear the clothes I used to wear again would also be beneficial to my mental health.
I went back to Slimmeria for the seventh time earlier this month
And I was delighted with the progress I’d made with my weight loss, increased fitness, and overall well-being. Furthermore, none of this would have been possible without the Slimmeria staff’s aid (to be honest, I only go once a year because I absolutely cannot succeed without them!). Everyone is supported by one another when you have the same group mentality, which was one of the most refreshing features of the Slimmeria retreat for me. But I’m not sure about yoga because I’ll stretch and strain until someone tells me my Tree Pose is perfect!
Hiking in the beautiful surroundings of the Slimmeria home is a real treat. The absence of Minnie was a great plus for this trip, as the group was wonderfully welcoming. Our questions were answered by the entire crew as part of a joint effort. My room was in the Garden Suite, which was one of the most expensive, but I believe it was worth it because it had a bath. In the end, the size of the room didn’t matter because I spent most of my afternoon hiking, working out, or strolling along the Hastings boardwalk.
The dinner is adequate for the price. A lamb chop with mashed potatoes would have been delectable, but let’s not forget why I came to Slimmeria in the first place! As a result, I kept my resolve, drank lots of water, and strictly adhered to the diet, and the weight loss came as a pleasant surprise. Slimmeria has revolutionized my eating habits and view on life, and I’m still experiencing the benefits after only a few weeks.
