On Friday, July 1st, from 2 pm to 4 pm, there will be a WES Reception, sponsored by Lycetts. Our WES Reception, which runs from 2 to 4 p.m., is becoming increasingly well-liked. We will give gifts to the seven Estates that earn Level 2 accreditation. There will be more details released soon. Partners on the Standby, Partners in Action, and Partners in Standby (Partners in Crisis), We’ll have Lycetts, our insurance company partner, on the SLE stand the entire exhibition in addition to Bell Ingram, Network Rail, and Cat Barlow from the South of Scotland Golden Eagle Project. The eagles that the SSGEP relocates are “adopted” and given names by volunteers, donors, and supporters.
F05 Heather was adopted and given a new name by members of the Southern Uplands Moorland Group (SUMG), which was established in 2015. SSGEP has received support from rural estates all around southern Scotland since the project’s beginning, and the organization is overjoyed. For the aviaries and after release, local estates have provided a large portion of the eagles’ food (grey squirrels, rabbits, ravens, foxes, and deer). We are really proud to introduce Sue Fulton, a photographer, and artist, as one of our Eagle Champions. She generously donated an absolutely stunning work of art for the project that was based on Heather’s distinguishing markings.
The Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust, a foundation that funds critical research into endangered animals such as capercaillie and salmon, hosts the three-day event, which attracts upwards of 30,000 people. For the second year running, NFU Mutual is sponsoring a new restaurant on the banks of the River Tay, where chef Nick Nairn has devised a menu. New and old firearms, rifles, airguns, accessories, and clothes from all the major and minor companies will be available on Gunmakers’ Row.
Heather
At the GWCT Scottish Game Fair this year, you can place a bid on Heather, a Golden Eagle from the South of Scotland Golden Eagle Project (SSGEP), who will be relocated in the summer of 2021. This 24″ x 20″ digital artwork was produced using Sue S. Fulton’s Art Rage program. For an average selling price of £320, a single canvas print was produced and sold.
Inverlael Estate delivered Heather, a female golden eagle with unique white markings on her head, and she was given the ring number F05. Golden eagle chicks are covered with white, downy feathers while they develop their juvenile plumage, but as the birds become older, these feathers fall off. F05’s white feathers developed a stunning and unique pattern as she grew older in the aviary, including a supercilium stripe and a diamond shape on the back of her head (see image below).
The artist justifies their selection of this media in this declaration:
She doesn’t simply paint birds; she also includes other animals and even flowers in her works of art. She has a Facebook page called “Sues Fulton: Photography & Fine Art” as well as a website at www.SuesFulton.com. The SLE team is anticipating the GWCT Game Fair as a result, and they want members to stop by and discuss any relevant policy issues with them.
We at Scone are forward to meeting you!
