Michelle knight son: Michelle Knight was abducted by Ariel Castro in Cleveland, Ohio in 2002. Castro held her hostage and sexually assaulted her for over a decade. In May of 2013, she was rescued.

Michelle Knight was 21 years old when she was abducted in Cleveland, Ohio, on August 23, 2002. For more than ten years, she was held captive by Ariel Castro and subjected to his brutality. Knight and a third victim, Gina DeJesus, were freed in May 2013 after another hostage, Amanda Berry, fled. The case became a media phenomenon as a result of the women’s horrific suffering.

Knight grew raised in Cleveland, Ohio, where he was born in April 1981. She wanted to be a firefighter as a child and subsequently wanted to be a veterinarian. Knight, who was nicknamed “Shorty” because of her height of 4 feet, 7 inches, was tormented in high school. She informed her mother she had been assaulted at school when she was 17 years old.

Knight dropped out of school after finding out she was expecting a child. Joey was the name she gave to her kid. When the kid was a toddler, he was taken away from Knight and placed in foster care due to an injury, which was probably inflicted by her mother’s violent partner.

Knight left her cousin’s residence on August 23, 2002, and then vanished. Knight’s family reported her missing, but most people assumed she had ran away on her own, heartbroken about the loss of her son and unable to cope with the terrible turn her life had taken. Knight was removed from the FBI’s missing people database in 2003, despite her mother’s persistent posting of posters regarding her daughter.

In reality, Castro had offered Knight a lift on that fateful August day. Knight accepted the lift since she knew one of his daughters. She then decided to see Castro at 2207 Seymour Avenue in Cleveland after he promised to give her a dog for her kid. Knight was restrained and imprisoned once inside. It was the start of a long period of agony.

Knight allegedly fell pregnant five times as a consequence of the sexual torture she endured while in jail, but each time she miscarried after being starved and abused by Castro. Castro seized two more young women, Berry and DeJesus, and Knight was forced to deliver the child Berry gave birth to while in captivity. Castro also made fun of Knight for having family members hunting for DeJesus and Berry but no one was looking for her.

Berry managed to crawl to the front door and scream for assistance when Castro left his residence on May 6, 2013, attracting the attention of a neighbor. Berry dialed 911 after escaping. Knight and DeJesus were quickly rescued by the cops who arrived on the spot. Castro had been holding Knight for more than ten years.

Knight was taken to the hospital after her release; Castro had brutally battered her, leaving her with a loss of vision and nerve damage. Knight’s mother told the press she hoped to meet with her daughter and present her to a younger sister who was born during her captivity. Knight, on the other hand, opted to stay away from her family when she was released from the hospital.

Knight remarked at Castro’s sentence in August 2013, “I’ve reclaimed my life. I was in hell for 11 years. Your torment has just begun.” On September 3, 2013, Castro committed suicide in jail.

Knight released a book about her ordeal called Finding Me: A Decade of Darkness, a Life Reclaimed: A Memoir of the Cleveland Kidnappings in May 2014.
