Jujutsu Kaisen 0 Characters: Jujutsu Kaisen 0 Movie character designs have been published via the official Jujutsu Kaisen anime Twitter account. In Japan, the movie will premiere on December 24th and is a prelude to the first season of the anime. Season 2 will focus on Okkotsu Yuta, a figure who was hinted to in season 1 as having the potential to outdo Gojo in terms of skill.
The film covers the manga’s first volume. VIZ explains the plot in the following way: Yuta Okkotsu is a frightened high school student with a significant issue. She has morphed into an evil curse and won’t let him go. In the case of Rika’s plight, a teacher at the Jujutsu High School for Exorcists, Satoru Gojo, becomes aware of it. He persuades Yuta to join, but will he be able to learn enough in time to face his curse?

The number of copies of Jujutsu Kaisen in print has just surpassed 55 million, making it one of the most popular new-gen manga titles. In March of this year, Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine began serializing the manga. Also today in Japan, the 17th combined volume will be released. A 24-episode anime adaptation of the manga was published in October of last year. Jujutsu Kaisen 0 was first serialized in 2017 in Jump GIGA for four volumes under a different title and was created by Gege Akutami. Akutami’s main Jujutsu Kaisen series, which began in March 2018 and will be adapted into an anime in 2020, is the predecessor to this prequel series. In addition to the director, Hiroshi Seko is the scriptwriter, Tadashi Hiramatsu is the character designer, and Yui Umemoto is the assistant director of this production. Every single one of them was previously involved with the Jujutai Kai series. MAPPA is the company that produces animated content. Yuichi Nakamura plays Satoru, and Takashi Sakurai plays Suguru Geto in the cast. Plot
Young Yuta Okkotsu, a secluded high school student, is haunted by the ghost of his deceased girlfriend, who follows him wherever he goes. Satoru Gojo, a sorcerer, has a different plan for Yuta, so he follows him to his school to learn how to handle the curse’s power. To prepare for his first year of college at the Tokyo Metropolitan Technical College, Yuta studies Jujutsu skills. When he eventually does find his position, he runs into several familiar faces, including Toge Inumaki, Maki Zenin, and even Panda.
Production
After the conclusion of the Jujutsu Kaisen anime television series in March 2021, the film was announced. For this film, Hiroshi Seko and Tadashi Hiramatsu created character designs and scripts, respectively, for Hiroshi Seko and Sunghoo Park. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Park stated that the film would incorporate additional material not seen in the manga’s original storyline.
King Gnu sang the film’s theme song, “Ishizu” (“The Only Way”), and the epilogue, “Sakayume” (“Contradictory Dream”). In “Ichizu,” Yuta and Rika’s romance is the focus. “Ishizu” was written by guitarist and vocalist Daiki Tsuneta. Despite the pressure to deliver the perfect masterpiece, Tsuneta believes that the song he created was the right fit for the worldview of Jujutsu Kaisen. The movie’s theme song, “Ishizu,” was to be paired with “Sakayume” on a CD single released on December 29. However, the entire picture, including lyrics and music, was shrouded in secrecy.

Box office
At midnight on the first day of release, the film was shown in 58 theatres to an estimated 15,000 people. Tickets sold out on the first day of sales, and theatres eventually increased the number of screens to accommodate the increased demand. Originally, the film was scheduled to run at midnight on just 28 screens in 14 theatres in Kyoto, Miyagi, Tokyo, Osaka, Aichi, Fukuoka, and Hokkaido. A million-ticket opening day take was predicted by the film’s distributor, Toho, for the film.
Park worked meticulously to ensure that each character’s facial expressions were spot-on when they engaged in combat. He sees Yuta Okkotsu, the new protagonist, as a simple adolescent whose loneliness is caused by being pursued by Rika’s Curse. During the filming of the movie, Megumi Ogata astonished Park by portraying Yuta as sensitive when she cries. The picture opened at the top of the box office and grossed $23.5 million in its first three days of release. The film has grossed a total of 12.3 billion ($107 million) as of March 2022, making it the 23rd highest-earning Japanese film of all time. Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time has been overtaken by the film at the Japanese box office from 2021, making it the highest-earning film of the year.
Reviewer’s reaction
Although Anime News Network believed that the film did not mark surprising developments in the tale when compared to the television series, the film received positive responses from critics. Japanese Anime News Network praised Megumi Ogata’s portrayal of the character in Japanese for helping the character stand out more in the movie than in the original manga when he shifts tones from calm to more aggressive tones when there are aspects of horror or action. US theatres were expected to earn $10 million in ticket sales when the picture was released following the wide distribution of The Outfit, Umma, and X. The movie made $2.9 million from 2,003 previews on Thursday night.
