Grade Mobile Reviews: Before we can sell you a pre-owned mobile phone, it must be thoroughly inspected by our qualified employees. As a result, we want to make sure that we have enough Inventory to suit your needs. We place a high value on building long-term relationships with our clients since we know that these relationships are the key to our business’s success.
This is why we’ve set up a system for evaluating and grading every mobile device that comes in to ensure that its description and price are correct. The screen and case of a second-hand phone or tablet will have some scratches and scuffs from previous use. Neither the screen nor the casing will be damaged. Each and every second-hand mobile phone, tablet, and computer is rigorously checked to verify that it is completely functional and safe to use. However, if you receive a product and are dissatisfied with it, you have 10 days to return it for an exchange or a refund in full.
The following criteria must be met by all phones:
- the phone must be able to switch itself on and off with no issues
- We perform a sim lock check.
- We check to see if the display is clear if the colors are accurate, and if any faulty pixels are present before passing judgment on its general condition.
- The microphone is tested.
- Speaker and loudspeaker evaluation
- The phone’s vibrations must be fine to use
- We make sure the camera is functioning properly.
- We dial a dummy number on each of our cell phones and see if it works.
- We also take a look at the battery’s health and charging capabilities.
- Wi-Fi, gyroscopes, and accelerometers are also tested on cell phones.
- We also check newer gadgets to see if they aren’t blacklisted or blocked.

The Grading and Testing of Used Mobile Phones
The price you’re quoted will vary depending on the condition of the gadget when you purchase or sell used mobile phones. As distributors of old mobile phones, we’ve developed a system that gives customers peace of mind knowing that their item will work as expected. Besides selling, phone-swap.co.uk also buys and swaps phones! It’s possible to get cash or a newer model for your old phone or tablet by simply contacting us or stopping by our store at 138 High Street Walthamstow, London E17 7JS.
Devices aren’t merely graded based on how they appear to us. Hardware and software are also thoroughly tested. Here’s a look at the inner workings of our grading system. We test mobile phones by using them. At least 20 computerized checks are used in our testing process. If a phone is to make it to the grading stage, it must pass each of these tests without a hitch. The camera, touchscreen, microphone, speaker, and any touch sensors are tested during the testing process. The phone’s internal SIM card slot is also checked for Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity, and the SIM card is inserted correctly. We will not grade a phone if it does not pass these checks when it is received. Our team will not grade phones that don’t turn on or have buttons that are broken or missing.
The Grades We Assign to Pre-owned Cell Phones
Depending on the results of the tests, we can give a phone one of four grades:
- Exceptionally clean
- A-B-C-D-E
- Class B
- Class C
It signifies that the phone is in near-perfect condition. In other words, there are no flaws or blemishes on the outside shell. The phone is also unlocked and free of any security features, such as iCloud limits, if it is graded A/Pristine. You may receive a high-quality used phone at a reasonable cost by purchasing a Grade A/Pristine phone, which is the best-used phone available.
Grade A/B is near-perfect
Grade A/B is near-perfect, but there are a few marks of use. iCloud and other restrictions must be removed, and it must not have been damaged or shattered. At this level, minor surface imperfections, such as a few pinprick dings in the case, are acceptable.
It is acceptable for phones in this grade to have one or two light scratches on the surface and a dent in the shell. It is reasonable to assume that there will be some tiny blemishes on the bezel or edges of a phone in this condition. All of these phones are completely functioning, unlocked, and in good working shape, much like the two classes above. When purchasing a product graded C, the customer should expect certain signs of regular (but conscientious) wear and tear. A closer inspection of the phone will reveal slightly longer, deeper marks. If the screen or the casing of the phone is damaged, we will not sell it to you at this grade level.

It’s unclear what the term “refurbished phone” actually mean
Refurbished phones are pre-owned devices that have been sent back to the manufacturer for repair or cleaning in preparation for resale. However, a refurbished phone is not the same as any other second-hand phone you might find. A customer’s undesired phone will be thoroughly inspected and, if necessary, repaired by the phone maker or retailer before it can be sold again. If a customer returns a phone because they changed their mind, you might be able to score a brand-new phone for next to nothing. When purchasing a used or refurbished phone, you may not receive all the accessories that come with a new phone. Because of this, they’ll have been thoroughly inspected, mended, and tested before they’re put back on the market.
Is there a warranty on reconditioned phones?
When purchasing a refurbished phone, be sure to check the warranty to see if you’re covered in the event that something goes wrong with it. Most refurbished phones come with a guarantee if you buy from a reputable manufacturer or reseller, but the length of the warranty varies on where you got the phone. If the phone you’re considering has no flaws, the manufacturer or merchant is likely to provide you with some type of guarantee. It is more likely that anything will be wrong with the phone when you buy it from a trader or private seller than when you buy from a retailer. To keep this in mind, keep an eye out for the warranty that is offered when purchasing a reconditioned phone.
