The Daily Mail reports that her new position will likely outpace the $200,000 a year in superannuation she will receive when she turns 55. Breach of Public Trust
New South Wales anti-corruption watchdog (ICAC) announced in October that it was investigating whether Ms Berejiklian was involved in a “breach of public trust” during her relationship with former Wagga Wagga MP Daryl Maguire. Infancy
She was born in Manly Hospital, Sydney, the eldest daughter of Armenian immigrants Krikor and Arsha Berejiklian, who had three children. During the Armenian genocide of 1915, Turkish soldiers orphaned her paternal grandparents. Before the age of five, Berejiklian could only communicate in Armenian. Since moving to Australia, she has remained active in the Armenian community by serving on the Armenian National Committee of Australia. In honor of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian genocide, she attended a ceremony in Yerevan in 2015.
First term as New South Wales Premier
She announced her intention to take over the leadership of the Liberal Party of New South Wales following Mike Baird’s resignation as leader and premier of the state on January 19, 2017.
