Fashion Nova Jeans Review: Fashion Novas has always been a dream of mine. On YouTube, I frequently see people flaunting their hauls and pants. I opted to test Fashion Nova jeans because there are more favorable than negative reviews. I’m going to tell you about my experience shopping for jeans on Fashion Nova and my general Fashion Nova jeans review as someone who doesn’t have a tiny waist-to-huge hip ratio.
I’m normally a size 12 in jeans, but several of the ones I wanted were 11 or 13. It was causing me concern. I was particularly concerned about many of the jeans’ waistlines. Fashion Nova jeans are for women with smaller waists and larger hips, as well as larger busts. However, the waist sizing recommendations made me wonder if I’d be able to find a pair that would fit me well. My body is neither hourglass nor pear-shaped. Not too much butt and a bigger waist. The majority of sizing charts depict women with a 20-inch waist, however, my body is built differently…
Skinny Jeans with a High Waist.
This notion of how jeans should fit makes me feel uneasy. I would have gone to an Old Navy and tried on pants if it hadn’t been for COVID-19; I may buy some Old Navy jeans in the future. I was disappointed with the size charts, but I did discover a pair of jeans that I liked. The waist of the size 11 jeans is 30 inches, while the hips are 41 inches. It measured 31 inches around the waist and 42 inches around the hips. My hips would fit in either size, but I was hoping for some give and flexibility in my waist. I gave in and ordered two sizes to try on. I ordered two different jean washes just for fun. The 11s were black, while the 13s were dark denim.
How long does it take for Fashion Nova to ship?
Fashion Nova took 7 days to arrive. UPS delivered it. My jeans arrived in a plastic bag. These jeans were purchased with a coupon (they usually have coupons). Using a 30 percent discount voucher from their website, I spent $48.99 for both jeans plus $4.99 shipping. The size 11s were quite difficult to close. They were really constrictive around my waist. I attempted the sitting test and was injured. My waist was constricted. The muffin top had blown away. My sagging waist is visible.
My legs looked great in the Fashion Nova size 13 jeans. What a pair of cozy jeans legs…. Since I was a kid, I haven’t felt so fantastic in pants. The waistband was still too tight. Don’t get me wrong… I could sit in them… but they made my waist hurt (probably because I had just eaten some oven-roasted chicken and fries). It felt enjoyable to stand and walk around in the jeans. The jeans were also looser in the butt/hip area than the size 11s, so they didn’t feel too tight on my thighs cheval. One of the things I didn’t like about these jeans was the stomach pooch. In the front and rear, these jeans make me look scruffy. I admire these jeans for paying attention to my tummy tuck.

So, if you, like me, have stomach discomfort, beware… It emphasizes your tummy and attracts attention to that area, which isn’t what I think high-waisted trousers are for. My butt was also disgusting. In jeans, I’ve never looked worse. In jeans, my butt is generally round, but these were squarish. High-waisted jeans make my stomach appear slimmer in the back, but they make it appear larger in the front. It was disappointing, but it won’t be obvious if I wear a larger blouse or sweater over the jeans.
How can you figure out what size Fashion Nova you are?
MEASURE YOUR WIDTH AND HIPS! To ensure accurate sizing, take the time to measure yourself. Due to varied sizing, a size 12 in one pair of jeans may not be a size 12 in another. I recommend purchasing a measuring tape so that you are always aware of your size. This is the cassette I’m currently using. But in case you misplace one, here’s one with three measuring tapes. I ordered three because I misplaced mine and found them at various intervals over time.
Examine the sizing chart as well as the fit of the model. Choose a waist size for your jean. Examine the fit of the jean. If the jeans have a high waist, take your measurements from there. Observe the model’s position if you plan to wear high-waisted jeans. Then take your waist measurement in the same spot as the model’s jeans. Measure the area where they sit above your hips. To be honest, these pants will probably fit the same way if you don’t have a true pear or hourglass shape with a strong waist-to-hip ratio and a pooch belly. My measurements are all in the 30-inch range. If my waist had been three inches smaller, these jeans would have fit perfectly.
If you just buy one pair of jeans from this review, make it this one. These jeans are undeniably the stars. They look great on hourglass figures. The waist is stretchy but denim-like. Now is a great time to stock up on denim at Fashion Nova. We’re lucky because this pair is part of the BOGO! I also own the clothing in the photo. And I don’t advise it. No bra can be worn. I know Gen Z says skinny jeans are out, but they will come back in time. When they do, you’ll want these.
Look at the stretch and the consistency
It should be noticeable, depending on the stretchability of the denim. I was able to button the waist of the Super Stretch Fabric pants I bought (47 percent Rayon, 32 percent Cotton, 19 percent Polyester, and 2 percent Spandex). I wouldn’t have been able to button them up if they were made of a firmer, non-stretchable fabric. My waist is 33 inches, therefore I went with 30 and 31-inch jeans. I chose these since their hip size was an inch and a half to 1-2 inches larger than mine. If I had ordered the size 15, the butt area would have been rather baggy and droopy.
Is Fashion Nova Jeans Scam? Is it worth it? Are they bad? Let’s discuss.
Before we start the review. Let me explain. Every year I struggle to locate jeans that fit me perfectly. I have 8/10 hips and a 4/6 waist. This has always been difficult. I was willing to pay practically anything for a pair of well-fitting pants. A few years ago, one of my best friends informed me about Fashion Nova and how her friend adored their jeans. I gave them a chance. I got their jeans. My jaw dropped when I tried them on. I’d found my new favorite jeans. (And for under $40.) Mind-blown.
My Fashion Nova jeans aren’t 100% denim. That turns some folks off. (I believe this is why Fashion Nova Jeans are considered “poor quality.”) Because they were made for me. I’ve owned FN jeans for two years and paid under $40 for them. So quality hasn’t been an issue. Also, I ordered a size 7 pair of pants from Fashion Nova. Now for an honest review.
