CMT sat down with McCollum to discuss the memorable event that followed his NBA Finals Victory
McCollum described his victory as “humbling.” I said to myself, “That’s my chance right there,” as soon as my song appeared on the radio after I signed my record deal with Covid.” Thanks to those fans, the song soared to No. 1 and went gold and platinum before we ever went out on the road again. I wondered if Covid would still be there when we returned every day, and it has grown tremendously since then.
The sweet melody was at the top of Billboard’s Country Airplay chart in mid-March. It was co-written and produced by Jon Randall, a rising performer, and Rhett Akins icon. McCollum’s first major-label album, “Gold Chain Cowboy,” contains the viral hit. The video, which depicts a performance in a parking lot, was included in CMT’s Top 20 Hot Country Countdown.

The CMT Breakthrough Video of the Year honors emerging artists, and I’m excited to see who you choose this year “Swift remarked.
What a brilliant concept. What a surprise. Okay. I don’t know what to say because I didn’t think I was going to win “Barrett replied, her voice dropping off as she was taken aback. “We didn’t expect this video to be as popular as it was. We knew we had some really great footage with actual people chanting our songs back to us when we arrived in my favourite city in the world “she declared. “Marathon is my favourite area to run in the city. We were successful in selling everything. We were able to generate a profit for the first time. Thank you for the opportunity, CMT. Let’s keep the song going strong!” Thank you for taking the time to vote for it!
The song “Girl Goin’ Nowhere,” written by McBryde and Jeremy Bussey, was inspired by a meeting with a skeptic. The song was inspired by a caustic remark made by McBryde’s high school math instructor regarding pursuing a music career in Nashville. The lively anthem may be found on McBryde’s third studio album.
