Early years
Reynolds represented St Peters JRLFC, Alexandria Rovers, La Perouse Panthers, and Kensington United in the South Sydney Juniors competition. He was a member of the New South Wales under-17 team in 2007. Reynolds joined the Rabbitohs’ Under-20s team in 2010 and played a crucial role in the team’s Toyota Cup Grand Final appearance.
2020
On February 25th, Reynolds was chosen as the new captain of South Sydney. “I grew up across the street from Redfern Oval in apartments on Elizabeth Street and always wanted to play for Souths, so to have the opportunity to lead this club is fantastic,” Reynolds told the reporters. South Sydney defeated North Queensland 31–30 at Queensland Country Bank Stadium in Round 14, owing to a try, five goals, and a last-gasp field goal by Reynolds. Reynolds passed down an additional year of his contract with the South Sydney Rabbitohs in order to join Cronulla-Sutherland for a reported $200,000 less when he signed a three-year deal with Brisbane on May 12 after weeks of uncertainty about his future. In South Sydney’s 38–22 win over Wests Tigers in round 16 of the NRL season, Reynolds broke Eric Simms’ goal-kicking record. Reynolds scored a try, assisted on another two, and kicked seven goals in a South Sydney victory over St. George Illawarra in Round 20. The next week, when South Sydney defeated Parramatta 40-12, Reynolds passed Eric Simms for the club’s all-time scoring record.
Reynolds played 25 games for South Sydney in the NRL season of 2021. He guided South Sydney to a 14-12 loss to Penrith in the 2021 NRL Grand Final. With barely five minutes remaining, Reynolds had a chance to tie the game at 14-14 with a 30-yard field goal try from the sidelines. Reynolds had a chance to convert the conversion in the last seconds, but he missed it by a whisker. Penrith held on to win their third premiership when Reynold’s two-point field goal attempt with one minute remaining was missed.
