47Skin Reviews: Now that the weather has turned colder, I’m sure we’re all seeking a product that will protect our skin from the Elements, keep it looking young, hydrated, and radiant, and also help us combat acne scars. As a regular reader of the site, you know that I’m a big fan of newer or less well-known businesses, and today’s featured brand is no Exception. I’m also a big fan of the story behind it.
47 Skin was created as a vehicle for disseminating this ground-breaking formula to the general public. The 47 Skin Silver Chitosan Regenerative Serum is one of the four products now on the market that uses the proprietary recipe. Designed to protect the skin from UV rays and environmental conditions, as well as lessen the look of scars, the Silver Chitosan Regenerative Serum regenerates surface skin cells. Packaging for the product is in an orange-brown bottle with a pump top and an information sticker on the front. The substance is white and watery in texture. The bottle is then placed in a chic white box for safekeeping. The product has a clean, modern aesthetic.
47 An accidental scientific discovery led to the creation of Skin in 2017. A mishap was the cause. While doing water purification studies, a British scientist experimented with adding chitosan, an edible sugar that comes from shellfish and is commonly used in the pharmaceutical industry, to an atom of silver. This resulted in the development of a new antibacterial and anti-inflammatory compound. Further research into its potential as a skincare ingredient revealed that it was effective in treating acne, increasing skin regeneration, diminishing aging symptoms, and lowering inflammation.
Unique Formula’s technology on 47 Skin Website
This unique formula’s technology is detailed on the 47 Skin website if you’re interested in learning more. Nearly a year has passed since I began working with 47Skin. No one needs to know how much I adore this brand, nor do I have to list all the reasons for my devotion, but I will nonetheless! In addition to being cruelty-free, they’re a small UK-based company that has a large sustainable heart. All of their products are packaged in recyclable and refillable glass jars. Ocean Plastic is currently being sought as a replacement for the plastic they do use in their products. (https://nyicff.org/)
This Anti-Blemish and Scar Repair Treatment Mask/Serum was something I wanted to test on my daughter. She’s now 21 years old, but she’s had Hormonal Acne since she was a teenager. No matter how hard we’ve tried, no matter how many times we’ve gone back and forth to the doctor, nothing has worked. It’s been a long and arduous journey for her, and she’s now scarred in many areas. She’s lost a lot of confidence, and as a mother, I can’t bear to watch her go through this. Because of this, I decided to give this Mask and Serum a try. I’ve used a lot of 47Skin products before, so I didn’t have any concerns about using this one on her.
30ml Glass Bottle with Pump Dispenser, £29 for the Serum. Inflammation is supposed to be reduced, scars faded, and breakouts avoided thanks to the unique proprietary ‘Formula 47,’ which includes Silver and Chitosan in an effective composition. A protective and moisturizing seal is formed by the silver in the formulation, and a lattice-like structure is formed by the chitosan, allowing cells to heal themselves. This information is taken from the skin47 website. The serum has a lovely viscosity that is neither too runny nor too thick. It applies well to the skin and dries to a soft matte appearance.
47 Skin Key Ingredients
Cyclopentasiloxane, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Dime Silvthicone, Glyceryl Stearate, Ceteareth-20, er/Chitosan complex are the key ingredients (Poly-D-Glucosamine, silver, lactic acid). The following ingredients make up less than 1% of the final product: Triethanolamine, Phenoxyethanol, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) butter, Ethylheylglycerin, Allantoin, and the essential oils of Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot), Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit), Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange), and Citrus (Tangerina) Peel Oil.
The 60ml jar of the mask costs £57. Applying a face mask is as simple as applying it to clean, dry skin and let it sit for around 25-30 minutes before gently peeling it off or washing it off with warm water. A little goes a long way, so even though this is a pricey mask, I expect it to last a long time. Silver/Chitosan complex (Poly-D Glucosamine, silver, and lactic acid) PEG-8, Glycerin, Polyvinyl Alcohol, Titanium Dioxide, Mica, Phenoxyethanol, and Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil are the major ingredients, all of which are gentle enough for sensitive skin to use. A delicate perfume permeates the air without becoming overpowering.
Even though it’s watery, it’s thick enough to prevent dripping, which would squander the product or cause a mess. In addition, a small amount of goods goes a long way, making it more economical. For a brief period after application, the skin may feel oily, but this subsides as you allow it to absorb and continue with the rest of your skincare regimen. It provides a good firming effect when applied. It’s firm but not overly so. As a bonus, it leaves the skin looking radiant without being overly greasy.
I’ve found it to be really effective in reducing redness and healing pimples. It appears to have a major impact on the speed of healing. Since I started using it two weeks ago, I’ve been really pleased with the results. This is a serum that goes to work right away and produces results quite quickly. I’m eager to see what else it has in store for me after only a few weeks of use.
LOUISE’S STORY
“I never used to suffer from blemishes when I was younger, but around 3-4 years ago, I started to break out. I didn’t really know what to do so I ended up picking and squeezing quite a few of my pimples. This left me with a lot of scarring and dark marks, which were very obvious. I tried pretty much every single brand on the market to reduce them, but nothing seemed to work.
I kept seeing 47 Skin Anti-Blemish and Scar Repair Serum on my Facebook adverts and it had such good reviews, I thought I’d try it. I was shocked because honestly, within 3 days, the marks had started to disappear and I saw the progress that I’d never seen with other brands- I was so impressed that I recommended it to all my friends! This product is lightweight, it smells lovely and it really does do what it says on the tin.”
Those with oily, blemish-prone skin will benefit the most from this serum, but those with dry, blemish-prone skin can also benefit. I imagine you’d need something more moisturizing as a follow-up. That being said, I must say that I’m really pleased with the results! 47 Skin has done an excellent job of capitalizing on this happy accident, and I think they’ve done a terrific job overall. Any other product lines that come from this company, if any, have my full attention. Hopefully, the rest of you feel the same way.
