Is Listening to an Odyssey Possible?

When my kids ask me if they may listen to the Odyssey, I always say yes. On our way to or from work or while doing chores or just lounging around the house. They’d want to hear a version of the Odyssey. Members of Odyssey Adventure Club can participate in a variety of activities Adventures in Odyssey, or “Odyssey” as it’s more often known, has definitely been brought up before if you’ve spent any time around here at all.

A radio drama about the town of Odyssey, John Avery Whittaker (owner of a discovery emporium/ice cream shop), and the people of this town, all of whom have adventures, learn about God’s Word, and finally, come to know Him in a deeper way. The voice performers (including Scrooge McDuck, Chilly from Doc McStuffins, Owl from Winnie the Pooh, and many more) are also top-notch. And the lessons…oh, how I wish I could express how amazing they have been! You and your kids will love these conversation starters!

Here’s the problem: Odyssey can only be heard on the radio, so make sure you tune in. (Huh? (What the heck are you talking about?!) Or you may buy the CDs for $25 each. Even if I wanted to spend the money, I just forgot to buy them. Even if I wanted to. Despite the fact that there are more than 50 albums, the stores don’t carry all of them, and I’m not sure how I’m supposed to manage an album of CDs in this era of fast podcasts and free Spotify streaming.
