What is the purpose of STROMECTOL?

River blindness (onchocerciasis) and intestinal threadworms are two conditions that STROMECTOL is used to treat (intestinal strongyloidiasis). Worm infections are to blame. The skin, glands (lymph nodes), and eyes are the primary sites of onchocerciasis worm infection. If you notice any of these symptoms on your skin (such as a rash, patches of discoloration, or nodules), it’s important to consult your doctor immediately. The infection might lead to swollen glands in the neck, armpits, or groin, depending on where the illness originated.

Eye infections such as conjunctivitis, which can result in a gritty or sore eye and even blindness, are other possible complications. The intestines and skin are the primary sites of worm infection in strongyloidiasis, which is effectively treated with STROMECTOL. Itchy rash, vomiting, diarrhea, and stomach ache are all possible side effects of this medication.

STROMECTOL kills the worms as they are form.

Sarcoptes Scabies Treated With STROMECTOL

Scabies mites produce itching and discomfort on the skin, especially at night, with irritated blisters or lumps. Between the fingers, wrists, underarms, female breasts (especially nipple skin), stomach, penis, scrotum, and buttocks are classic sites of infection. On the face and scalp, as well as the palms and soles, infants are most commonly affected.

Direct skin-to-skin contact, including sexual contact, is the most common way that scabies spread from person to person. However, things such as clothing or furniture can also transmit the parasite. It is imperative that everyone who has come into touch with an infected person gets prompt medical attention. Make sure to keep an eye out for any bumps or blisters on your skin. Hot water should be used to wash bedding and clothing, and no bleaching is necessary. For at least three days, shoes and other objects that cannot be washed should be stored in a firmly sealed plastic bag. Crusty and normal scabies are two distinct types of parasites (more severe).
