Brian Laundrie Garden Bed: Cassie Laundrie, Brian Laundrie’s sister, answered questions from a small group of protestors outside her house on Monday and provided clarification on some of the chronology surrounding her brother’s disappearance and the murder of Gabby Petito.
It was revealed exclusively to Nexstar’s NewsNation that the video was shot by a guy who claimed to be acquainted with the Petito family. Cassie Laundrie verified on the video that Brian returned home to Florida from the western United States at some time on or around August 17, five days after he and Gabby Petito were stopped over and separated by police in Moab, Utah, according to the video.
The group inquired as to whether Cassie felt her brother was responsible for Petito’s death and if she believed he was still alive. Both inquiries elicited the same response from her: “I don’t know.” “This is not what we want to be doing,” Cassie expresses her displeasure. “This is not the way we want the rest of the world to discover that we are furious and unhappy.” But I can’t stand the thought of my children weeping for three days in a row.”
She also claimed that her response to a query regarding the last time she saw Brian Laundrie was misinterpreted by the news media. According to her, “I haven’t been able to speak with him,” according to an interview with ABC News on September 16. That was interpreted as meaning she hadn’t heard from him since Petito vanished without a trace.
She informed the audience that she had no idea anything was wrong until the police started interrogating her family on September 11, 2001. She said she last saw Brian on September 1, when he and his parents arrived in the family Mustang, rather than the van he and Petito had been traversing the nation in with Petito.
She also saw him on Sept. 6 while on a family trip, but claimed she had no reason to believe he was involved in any wrongdoing. According to Dailymail.com, fugitive Brian Laundrie left his home to go ‘for a walk’ in a Florida swampland a day earlier than his parents had first said to authorities.
Detectives learned of his disappearance on the evening of September 14 from his parents, Christopher, 62, and Roberta, 55. He had been missing for two weeks, two weeks after returning alone from an ill-fated cross-country road trip with girlfriend Gabby Petito, 22.
However, according to Laundrie attorney Steve Bertolino, the parents have now changed their account of events and now claim that their kid vanished on Monday, September 13.
The Laundries did not become aware of their son’s disappearance until the following Thursday.
As Bertolino said to Dailymail.com, ‘The Laundries were basing Brian’s departure date on their memory of specific occurrences, which led to the day Brian departed.
‘Following further contact with the FBI and confirmation that the Mustang was at the Laundrie home on Wednesday, September 15, we now think Brian went to hike in the preserve on Monday, September 13,’ the statement reads.
Despite the fact that Cassie spoke with the protestors for over 20 minutes and acknowledged that doing so would certainly displease their attorney, she said that the demonstrators’ persistence was disturbing her children and neighbors.
